RGO is run exclusively by gamers who like to play games, and who
dislike saving-up for weeks only to find that the one game we can
afford is a turkey. We wanted a service that let us play the latest
releases, so that we could see if we liked them, and we wanted a
service that held all the older games, too, so that we could play
them in times of nostalgic longing, or compare them to a later offering.
As there was nothing like this available, we decided that we should
start a service ourselves.
The premise is simple. We have an unrivalled collection of games
spanning the three big consoles, and members can access this collection
just as they would access books in a library. But of course there's
more. As Gamers are a big happy family, they naturally want to discuss
the merits of the games they play, compare scores, and use their
hard-earned skills to compete for prizes and (usually grudging)
respect. To expand the experience of UK gaming beyond the front-room,
we will run competitions and maintain scoreboards on our associated
Games Forum,
an area that provides all the space we could want for chatting,
moaning, and getting our point of view across to other gamers in
our community.
